What: • A Fundraiser for Speed the Light! • We divide the youth sanctuary into 4 sections. • Kids (together with their squad) build a city/house out of cardboard in their section of the youth sanctuary. • People pledge them money per hour they are staying in their cardboard city. • Kids can bring games/snacks for themselves and their city • The most creatively built city wins a Trophy! o Judges TBD
When: • Kids can come to the church every evening Monday 6/6-Thursday 6/9 to build it between 6:00-8:00pm (on Wednesday: after church from 8:00-9:00pm) • They get time to finish the city on Friday 6/10 from 6pm-10pm • From 10pm on Friday June 10th until 8:00am June 11th kids stay in their city, with the exception of bathroom passes.
How: • We provide as much cardboard as we can. Kids are encouraged to bring their own. • We provide packing tape/scissors • Leaders help their squads build on nights they are available.
I wanted to take a second to explain to you how we challenged your teenagers this week with what we are calling the "Envelope Challenge".
We laid out 50 envelopes each numbered (1-50) at the front of the worship center on Wednesday. We asked them to take a few minutes to pray and ask the Lord what he is asking them to give this month to Missions and our Youth Ministry. They picked an envelope with the number on front that represents the amount of money they are committing to give in the month of April!
Half of that money is going directly to Speed the Light (Missions) and the other half is going to our youth ministry. We have outreaches, events, and renovations we would love to do this summer with everyone's help!
Thanks so much, Pastor Peter
